Halcyon Mawella is Travel Gallery's latest find. Located on the quiet stretch of Mawella beach (our favourite on the island) but just a short tuk-tuk ride from the lively Hiraketiya bay which is perfect for surfers. Hiraketiya also has our favourite bar on the island. Smoke and Bitters also serves imaginative cuisine.
But you don't have to move far. The Halcyon Mawella has a small but innovative food and drink menu. We prefer the first floor rooms as they have great views and more privacy but the ground floor rooms are just steps away from the small pool.
