Situated on the South West Coast of Sri Lanka, set on a beautiful beach, the the resorts are on one of the livelier beach locations in Sri Lanka, with a variety of value for money restaurants and beach bars, which are particularly popular with younger and independent travellers. However, out of season it can be quiet.
The Chaaya Tranz is a 4* property which underwent a full refurbishment and has been developed to represent the lively reputation of Hikkaduwa. Today the hotel has 150 rooms and suites with mosaics of colour, comfort of rattan furniture and soft linens outfit superior, deluxe rooms and suites. In each room there is a spacious private balcony looking out to a view of the Golden Belt of the South Coast.
All rooms are air conditioned and equipped with a DVD player, 32” LCD TV, WiFi, mini bar complimentary tea and coffee making facility and usual room amenities. In our opinion this is a good value for money hotel for families with teenage children who want the bars and (limited) nightlife which Hikkaduwa has to offer. The historic town of Galle can be reached in 30 minutes for an excellent day trip from the hotel.
