Located just outside Tangalle, between the city of Galle and Yala National Park. The Anantara, set amidst a coconut plantation and golden crescent shores with glorious Indian Ocean views is located on a beautiful bay, and is hidden away on a rocky outcrop along a secluded stretch of Sri Lanka’s southernmost coastline. Due to strong currents, it is usually too rough to swim in this stretch, however a short stroll along the beach, there is a short stretch where it is possible to paddle.
The facilities include Anantara Spa, a 25-metre outdoor swimming pool, a yoga pavilion, meditation classes, badminton, tennis courts, Sri Lankan cookery lessons at the Spice Spoons, the resort’s demonstration kitchen, wine tastings and village tours. There are 120 rooms which all have balconies, well equipped and well designed with luxurious bathrooms. The beautiful villas located on the quiet end of the beach have private plunge pools and offer great privacy from the main site.
