The 40 free standing villas and suites are set within the landscaped grounds and are perched 36m above the sea, providing excellent views. The elegantly designed villas and suites have a contemporary style with lavish ocean facing bathrooms. Stone-encased Wattas (gardens) and Walauwas (mansions) form the intimate collections of villas and suites, measure between 130 and 300 square meters. Each property comes with private butler services, bespoke dining and spa facilities. Named after eminent Ceylon explorers and writers, they are the heart and soul of the resort. Wattas, clusters of two to three free standing garden-wrapped villas also share a 15m infinity pool. The suites in the Walauwas have direct access to the expansive, meandering, pool.
The 3 Cape Weligama Residences 307 sqm each have two bedrooms, a living room and a private 15m x 4m pool, whereas the other villas have one bedroom, a living room and vary in size between 130 and 195 square meters. The hotel is sold on a half board plus basis, including breakfast, lunch or dinner and selected wines with meals and pre lunch or dinner drinks. This includes an activity a day.
In our opinion, based on their sister properties, this will be the leading hotel on the south coast, providing a great standard of accommodation, service & food. The cliff location affords amazing views but we consider the beach access to be very disappointing for a property of this quality.
