Uga Bay, which is the latest addition to the resorts in Passekudah is the most luxurious resort on the East coast of Sri Lanka, with beautiful views of the unspoiled beaches and the combination of lavish surroundings and comfortable settings in every guestroom, the hotel provides a breathtakingly serene ambience. The resort has five room categories; Standard Rooms, Beach Studio, Beach View Studio, Bay Suite and Beach Chalet. The Beach Studio is located on the ground floor while the Beach View studio is located on the Upper floor. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served for hotel guests who can enjoy indoor and outdoor dining facilities.
The hotel has a good spa, fitness and a beautiful pool overlooking the beach. However, the beach and water sports distinguish this location. The Passekudah coastline includes a bay with deep water which is ideal for fishing, boating and diving while also including a shallow pool like area with beautiful coral reefs. This bay is perfect for snorkelling. Water sport facilities, Jet skis, water skiing, wake boarding and tube rides are available locally. Kites, Frisbees and snorkelling gear are available for guests from the hotel. This is one of the best locations for diving on the East Coast in the Summer months of June-November.
In our opinion, this is the best resort in Passekudah however, guests should be aware that there are twelve hotels being developed along this stretch of beach of which half are still under construction. Once complete this will be the most developed area on the East Coast and will offer a range of hotels facilities unique for Sri Lanka.
